The Transaction Oracle on the Riley trade

The Oracle thinks Riley and Nivar both are pretty valueless...

Matt Riley could beat out Pedro Astocio as the number 5 starter. He might not be that number one prospect anymore, but he could compete as a major factor for the Rangers.....We didnt give up much in Ramon Nivar, a utility player that cant hit that well and has good speed.

I totally disgaree about Riley being a 5th starter. He sounds like he might be a stong headcase, but I think Hers. can break him of that and turn him into a decent pitcher. Maybe not immediantly, but I think by the all star break or toward the end of the season you will see Riley starting to become a steady pitcher and not inconsistent like he is now.

He strikes me as the type of guy who is either front to mid rotation or you release. I don't see a lot of in between with this guy.
